Pikaia Lodge: A Perfect Hotel View in the Galápagos Islands

The Hotel’s Window

As your upcoming trip to the Galápagos approaches, the idea of enjoying a perfect view from the stunning Pikaia Lodge starts to grow on you. For instance, the unusual sight of witnessing a giant tortoise roaming for food while sitting on your room’s panoramic balcony is one of the many unmissable experiences you’re about to live. You’ve also been seduced by the images of an immense untouched territory that stretches to the sea. One thing we know for sure is that no matter how great those images are, reality proves even more spectacular.

Insider’s Knowledge

We spoke to Andrea Quinones, the Marketing and Communications responsible for Pikaia Lodge, and this is what we found out about this natural sanctuary in the form of a lodge.

  • If I had to pick, I'd say the hotel's best view is the porch with the infinity-edge pool and the Sumaq Spa. These views are exceptional; they combine the green area views of the hotel property, the extension of the Galapagos National Park, and the Pacific Ocean on the back. During the sunrise, you feel the hotel warming up as the sun rises from the east, and during the evenings, you can feel the magic of the Galapagos islands with some of the mist and the bird sounds as the sun fades out. Pikaia Lodge has 360 fascinating, uninterrupted views from every area on the property, but this is my favorite one. Not only the views are spectacular, but also the biodiversity; it is in this area of the hotel that one can find over ten species of Darwin Finch birds and yellow Warbler taking a bath in the pool, white herons catching insects, owls standing by the pool beds and tortoise often strolling the road surrounding the property. Truly magical.

  • I can honestly say all rooms in the property have fantastic views as the Lodge is built on top of a small plateau next to an extinct volcanic crater (if this is not destination goals, I don't know what is). My top choice is the "Balcony Rooms"; all have panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows with access to private shaded balconies and breathtaking unobstructed views. These rooms are on the 1st floor, so they have better views than the terrace rooms (the same room size and amenities). Another great room is the pool suite, with its private pool; this suite is the definition of luxury and privacy all in one place.

  • As mentioned, the hotel has views for days because it is on a small plateau in between craters! The pool, the spa, all the rooms, the dining, and even the gym has a great view. It is interesting because although all views are amazing, every sight is different and unique.

  • “Magical.”

  • We strive to balance excellent service, attention to detail, a small dose of extravagance, great comfort, one-of-a-kind experiences, and distinctive gastronomic experiences.

  • Galápagos is a bucket list destination, and exploring it using Pikaia Lodge as the base, has proven to be a winning formula for our esteemed guests. For those wanting to experience luxury and adventure simultaneously, this will soon become one of their favorite places on earth.

Hotel’s Location

You’ve asked for remoteness, the pure indulgence of being away from it all and as close as possible to nature in its splendor. Most certainly, it requires some effort to get to the pristine Galápagos islands. To begin with, you’ll need to get to the South American country of Ecuador, with Quito and Guayaquil being the major international airports. The next step is boarding a domestic flight to Seymour Airport, located on the adjacent Baltra island, where the welcoming team of Pikaia Lodge will be standing by to take you to your next stop: heaven on earth!
