Hotel Raphael: Aristocratic Charm & Perfect Paris Views

The Hotel’s Window

Among the most prestigious addresses in the verdant western side of Paris, right at the heart of the refined 16th district and only a stone’s throw from Arc de Triomphe, the Hotel Raphael is a time capsule that encompasses what most travelers dream of encountering when visiting the city: a genuine feeling of belonging to a place that combines romance and charm like no other. Of course, the frame-worthy hotel vistas of the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe play a pivotal role in delivering such an enriching and memorable experience.

Hotel RAPHAEL

Insider’s Knowledge

As we passed by Place du Trocadèro, leaving behind a majestic sight of the Eiffel Tower, and were driven along the prestigious Avenue Kléber, the excitement of resting our bags at one of Paris’ most emblematic five-star hotels was building up. Upon arriving, the graceful staff promptly lodged us in one of the hotel’s rooftop suites, where a plate of traditional macarons awaited us. Delicious as they were, our full attention was quickly captured by the sight of our very special neighbor for the next couple of nights, the scintillating Eiffel Tower. Indeed, this isn’t the only hotel in the city offering fabulous views of the Iron Lady. Still, the Hotel Raphael belongs to the strict list of properties where guests get to experience the landmark in great proximity and privacy - in our case, from a generous-sized rooftop terrace.

  • As guests are done with checking in at reception, they are often invited to go up taking one of our elevators. Little do they know they are not only going to their room floor but also embarking on a panoramic journey. A few moments after the doors close, a beautiful sight of the Arc de Triomphe is revealed, generating spontaneous “wows” and guests reaching out to their phones to capture that image. This is a ritual we particularly enjoy having our guests go through.

The elevator’s journey ends at the hotel’s rooftop, where 360-degree views of Paris are ready to be admired. In the warmer months, we have an on-site gourmet restaurant and panoramic bar where guests can sip a drink next to the Eiffel Tower.

  • Because of its privileged location, the Hotel Raphael is blessed with views of some of Paris’ most cherished landmarks. These views can be admired from some of the hotel rooms and suites. For those planning to visit us, the following list will provide some guidance:

Country Setting Room Terrace Eiffel Tower

This 35 sqm/377 sqft room has a 20 sqm/215 sqft private terrace that allows Eiffel Tower vistas.

Boudoir Room Terrace Eiffel Tower View

This 40 sqm/431 sqft room has a 20 sqm/215 sqft private terrace. Both the room and terrace offer an Eiffel Tower view.

    Baverez Suite Terrace Eiffel Tower

Named after one of the hotel's founders, Constant Baverez, this 70 sqm/753 sqft room has a 20 sqm/ 215 sqft private terrace with unobstructed views of the Eiffel Tower.

Parisian Suite Terrace Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe

One of our most unique suites, this is the ideal choice for guests who will not settle for anything less than eye-popping views of the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe. Upon entering the 50 sqm/538 sqft suite, guests will instantly notice a distinct bronze staircase, which leads to a reading room and a private terrace, from where it is possible to enjoy a meal in the companion of the Eiffel Tower one day, and in the companion of the Arc de Triomphe the other.

    Arc de Triomphe Terrace Suite

As the name suggests, this 6th-floor 65 sqm/700 sqft suite enables guests to be in permanent contact with the monument dedicated to the French heroes and possibly the most recognizable arch in the world - the Arc de Triomphe. With so many reasons to stay, including a private terrace of 40sqm/431 sqft with gorgeous views and sunloungers, and a bright and contemporary living room equipped with a romantic fireplace, the hardest will be to leave.

    Eiffel Tower Terrace Suite

Featuring an L-shaped private terrace larger than many apartments in Paris, this 65 sqm/700 sqft suite is the natural choice for those who will not settle for anything less than sweeping vistas across Paris, starting from the inevitable Eiffel Tower to many other landmarks, including the Arc de Triomphe and Sacré Couer in the distant horizon, not to mention the charming Parisian roofs. A feature we highly appreciate is the antique writing desk carefully placed by the window, which frames an inspiring view of the Eiffel Tower.

  • When guests plan on visiting us, they expect to find superlative views over Paris. Still, the feedback we constantly receive is that their expectations were surpassed, as even the best imagery we can produce pales compared to the on-site reality they encounter.

The best vistas from the Raphael can be enjoyed in the warmer months when our seasonal rooftop, formerly the apartment of the hotel’s originator Léonard Tauber, becomes available to our esteemed guests.

The Raphael's unbeatable views of Paris have served as the backdrop for many special occasions, from private celebrations to exquisite events.

  • “Romantic.”

You see, we are in the business of surpassing expectations. Those who cross our door often come with the aspiration of spending a perfect holiday in Paris, one they will never forget. Our city, when it comes to romance, is truly unique. At Raphael, we seek to act as a magnifier of the city’s essence merely: if Paris is the show, we strive to be the guests’ first-row seats.

  • At Hotel Raphael, luxury is defined not only by warm, personalized service but also by the spectacular and rare views the hotel offers.

Our hotel regularly receives a clientele of regulars, for business or leisure, who return over the years or even several times a year and consider the hotel their second home. Some of them have come to propose their marriage, their children come back later, and the latter come back when they are adults with their partners.

Luxury is also the privilege of staying in one of our six categories (two rooms and four suites) which offer not only a view of the Eiffel Tower and/or the Arc-de-Triomphe but also a large terrace, something rare in the French capital. Each room is unique, both in its view and its decoration.

  • When the rooftop restaurant and bar are closed (September to March), the hotel offers guests the opportunity to enjoy signature cocktails in its authentic 1900s English bar, in the spirit of London clubs, with a plush and cozy atmosphere, or lunch or dinner in its gourmet restaurant, with imposing ceiling heights, rich moldings and huge windows bathing the restaurant in light.

The hotel has two elevators that guests must try: a historic wooden elevator that "creaks" as it goes up and down; and a panoramic elevator (previously mentioned) with a huge bay window that takes guests up to the rooftop bar and restaurant while allowing them to admire a breathtaking view of the Arc de Triomphe once they reach the top floor.

The Raphael is also known as the second home of many French and American actors and artists and has hosted numerous fashion shows and film shoots for French and American movies and series.
