Insider’s Knowledge

Inspired by Audrey Hepburn’s “Paris is always a good idea” line from the 1954’s film Sabrina, we gladly visited the Hotel Regina Louvre Paris to check for ourselves the legendary vistas on display from this extraordinary five-star hotel. While the promise of eye-popping views was flawlessly delivered, the hotel’s distinct charm and character won us. To learn more about one of the best hotels in Paris, which was also the birthplace of the Red Cross and the Red Crescent societies after World War I, we joined Ms. Julie Policand in sharing a table at the English Bar, adorned with red velvet sofas and infused by the aura of the Victorian era.

  • Undeniably, the best views are relished from the hotel’s accommodations on the upper floors. With that said, some of our lower floor rooms and suites categories guarantee an Eiffel Tower view and are ideal to admire our French hero, Joan of Arc. The iconic Eiffel Tower can also be spotted from our lobby and certain seats in the tea room. As guests leave to explore the city and go through our unique revolving door, which has co-starred in multiple films, they are greeted by the sight of Joan of Arc’s golden statue, the central art piece of Place des Pyramides.

  • Julie, before you answer, allow us to specifically share with our readers what we could see from our lovely corner suite’s balcony. We counted nothing less than 14 points of interest. From left to right: Saint-Jacques Tower, The Louvre, Tuileries Garden, Statue of Joan of Arc, Musée d'Orsay, Les Invalides, Sainte-Clotilde, Eiffel Tower, Grande Roue De Paris, Place de la Concorde (obelisk), Grand Palais, Petit Palais, Arc de Triomphe, and La Défense skyline. In short, if that doesn’t feel like one has Paris at its feet, nothing will.

    Please continue, Julie.

It’s great to know that we have exceeded your expectations. At the risk of not being able to detail as much as you have, I’m happy to shed light on the views guests get to enjoy when staying at some of our room categories:

    Prestige Louvre Eiffel Tower Room

This category offers a stunning view of the Louvre Museum from the bedroom and a partial view of the Eiffel Tower and the Tuileries Garden from the window.

    Junior Suite Eiffel Tower

This category offers a splendid view of the Eiffel Tower, the Tuileries Garden, and the Louvre from the bedroom.

    Suite Eiffel Tower

This suite offers the most beautiful view among the other categories. It’s all there: the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, the glass roof of the Grand Palais, and the Tuileries Garden. Some of these units on the upper floors have a small balcony that offers a breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower and other Parisian monuments.

    Parisian Suite

One of our most popular suites, the 7th-floor Parisian Suite, is truly unique. From its small authentic Parisian balconies, guests can marvel at the views previously mentioned. One of the particularities of the Parisian Suite is that it has a second balcony on the courtyard side, from where one can enjoy magnificent views of the Sacré Coeur.

  • We have, on countless times, proudly assisted our esteemed guests with their marriage proposals by preparing a magical mise-en-scène. With the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop and suites decorated with flowers, rose petals, and an ice-cold French champagne bottle, the hardest thing would be to say no.

A prime time to witness our perfect views is on the 14th of July, our national day when low-passing fighter jets can be spotted spreading the French colors throughout the skies. The fireworks celebrating this day are the most awaited event for many of our clients. We receive reservation requests years in advance for all categories with an Eiffel Tower view, especially the suites, as this is one of the most magical and romantic moments. The fireworks start late at night and last several minutes, and these categories offer an unforgettable view of the Eiffel Tower.

Another special occasion is when the cyclists of the Tour de France arrive in the capital; the city is filled with excitement, and we can almost hear the panting breath of the athletes as they pass by Rue de Rivoli.

  • “Fairytale-like.”

The view of the Eiffel Tower is clear and overlooks the Tuileries Gardens. The latter offers a magnificent panoply of colors that varies with the seasons. Guests feel genuinely privileged when the sun sets over the garden: their entire room is bathed in golden light, and the park displays beautiful shimmering reflections with the Eiffel Tower in the background.

At night, guests are also in the front row to admire the glittering of the Eiffel tower (that last a few minutes per hour during nighttime).

  • The hotel’s perception of luxury does not depend solely on its historical location, where high fashion shows or iconic films have been shot, or the magical views offered by particular categories of rooms and suites. For us, luxury encompasses a much deeper meaning. We run a people-based business, so we work diligently on having a dedicated staff trained to anticipate guests' expectations and ensure their well-being during their stay. As a result, the Regina has received numerous awards. According to a popular review site, the hotel is one of the top 10% of the best hotels in Paris.

For us, luxury is also about the often invisible upgrades. For instance, we have worked hard to obtain the “Quiet Room” certification after ensuring our rooms were soundproof, which is rare in Paris’ hospitality scene. This way, we can guarantee our guests a peaceful night's sleep, undisturbed by the hustle and bustle of the street.

Regina’s Location

The Regina enjoys a prime location in Paris’ 1st arrondissement, just across the street from The Louvre and Tuileries Garden, sitting precisely in Place des Pyramides, where Rue de Rivoli meets Rue des Pyramides. The prestigious Rue Saint-Honoré, its upscale shops, and traditional bistros are just around the corner. The hotel is also within easy walking distance to La Comédie Française, the Palais-Royal Garden, and the charming Galerie Vivienne. For those visiting Paris for the first time, the location is unbeatable.
